What is Prism 23?

It’s a top-quality Macon community designed especially with Mercer University students in mind. Prism 23 features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments plus a full set of community features such as a rooftop terrace, community clubhouse, 24-hour fitness center, private study rooms and more – located in Macon’s College Hill corridor.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Prism 23 has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Prism 23 pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furnishings
  • High-speed internet
  • Water/sewer
  • Trash disposal
  • In-unit laundry
  • Community features – study room, fitness center, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at Prism 23 are available in 1 and 2 bedroom floorplans, with a private bedroom-bathroom suite for each resident.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all apartments at Prism 23 have a furniture package that includes a full-size bed, nightstand, desk and chair, and stackable dresser drawers in each bedroom. The living area includes a sofa, chair, coffee table, entertainment stand and barstools. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model apartment.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 11, 2023 to July 26, 2024, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Prism 23 also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Prism 23?

Your living costs at Prism 23 can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Prism 23. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Prism 23 open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Prism 23 are students at Mercer University. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Prism 23 is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired residence.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Prism 23 has a monitored fire-sprinkler system, along with electronic locks plus individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Prism 23 is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Prism 23?

Prism 23 offers free gated parking for residents.

What other transportation options will I have?

Prism 23 is conveniently located less than a mile from Mercer University and downtown Macon, making it easy to walk, bike or drive to class.
